About the store

I have been teaching for 13 years. I have a Masters in Education and a Masters in Leadership: Math Specialist. Math is definitely a passion mine. I created this store 9 years ago and took a hiatus, as life unfolded. If you are looking for a fun math game to incorporate into your lesson or a task please don't hesitate to ask - I'd be more than happy to create a game upon request if possible! This is played like normal dominoes only this time the numbers are displayed through various representations to build a strong sense of numbers 1-10. There is one tile of fractions included to then be able to connect to my fraction domino set if desired. Money domino pieces were added at the end, together, to add to the set when ready. Here are the printable resources to create a deck of cards to play like war. Only, this time the numbers are represented different ways. Blank cards have been left for the teacher or student to create their own addition to the game (for numbers 1-10). Directions do come with the game. This helps build number sense by seeing, identifying, and creating (if you make your own addition to the game) different representations of the same number.

Ten Frame Talk

Here are two versions of a mini number talk between two students. One student fills in as much of the ten frame (or double ten frame) as they decide and their partner has to tell them what number is displayed and how they know this. This helps aid in their ability to communicate HOW they know something and to push them further by communicating two ways they can prove their answer. Directions are included. This game is played like Go Fish. Only instead of asking for like numbers you are asking for numbers that will add up to a sum of 10. For instance, if you have a 4 you'd ask for a 6. This can be altered into Make 20 when students are ready, simply by recutting the deck differently or using it as a class project to create your own! I have a double ten frame template to print on index cards available in my shop to make this activity easily accessible to all students!
