About the store
I've been teaching drama since 2015 in Lake Forest, Illinois. I currently teach 5th and 6th-grade students daily. Prior to teaching drama, I taught 4th-grade students in Kenilworth, Illinois. I started my educational career as a teaching assistant for students with special needs in a kindergarten-second grade classroom in Libertyville, Illinois.

About the store
Experience
I've been teaching drama since 2015 in Lake Forest, Illinois. I currently teach 5th and 6th-grade students daily. Prior to teaching drama, I taught 4th-grade students in Kenilworth, Illinois. I started my educational career as a teaching assistant for students with special needs in a kindergarten-second grade classroom in Libertyville, Illinois.
Teaching style
I believe the dramatic arts program is designed to meet the expressive needs of each student. While making connections between the disciplines, the students will also gain an understanding of effective communication skills through using the mind, body and voice tools. My goal is to develop and enhance personal expression through the creative process; exploration, interpretation, production, and reflection. New concepts will be taught by using a combination of modeling, technology, exploration, improvisation, and visualization. The ultimate objective of the drama program is to foster creativity and performance characterization. Students in drama are able to demonstrate knowledge of theatre directions on stage and in print, performance skills, ensemble building, improvisation, and critiquing assessed through playing, performing, memorizing, improvising, and movement.

My own education history
I gained my skills from Illinois State University, where I double majored in elementary education and acting. I'm the first undergraduate to finish both degrees in four years. I continued my education at American College of Education, where I received a master in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Differentiated Instruction in 2017 and a second masters in Leadership in 2019.
Additional biographical information
When I'm not teaching drama, I'm performing! I've graduated from The Second City conservatory and used my skills for commercials, print ads, and improv shows in Chicago. I also coach JV gymnastics at our high school for a group of very extraordinary athletes.
