Using character archetypes, students learn how to write the role of the mentor archetype in narrative writing. Using a modern day conflict, they or a peer have experienced, students learn how to give advice as a mentor.

Students can use the digital CAR Chart to develop their vocabulary and record the origins of words. Includes a link to an online student friendly dictionary.

Students can sort consonant -le words or collect them through their reading. The table can also be used for whole class instruction as part of a display wall for spelling patterns.

Investigate the similarities and differences between the hero and villain archetypes. Record the traits and examples of the character archetypes in a visual way.

Students can use the digital reading log all year long to record their voracious reading.
