This is a ready-to-use form for students to add to their high school professional portfolio that they use for their mock interviews. I have my Career and Financial Management (CFM) class ask their teachers, coaches, etc. to fill out this form for their portfolio. Asking for a time-consuming reference letter should be reserved for specific purposes -- college applications, scholarships, etc. Suggestion: at least 3 evaluations should be included in the professional portfolio.

This is a fun activity for middle school or high school students. Use common materials, including candy, to determine the mechanical properties of that material. The students then use this knowledge to design an object (back of worksheet). This is a good introduction or culminating activity for a mechanical properties unit. High Flying Math! This fun, interactive lesson can be used for an introduction to measurement unit. Students create a straw glider with 2 paper circle hoops and a straw. They then test their glider in a pre-marked area and record the distance. For older students, you can add variables to the design of the glider. Also great for a ready-made substitute lesson plan!
