About the store
I am a classically trained, exceptional education teacher. I started teaching in 1995. I retired in 2020. I am currently teaching part-time at the school I retired from. I love teaching. I taught ECP exclusively for the first 18 years of my career. During this time, I discovered my love for creating or retro-fitting lessons and activities for my students who were of high school age but had below grade-level reading levels. I have taught the Life Skills curriculum, Occupational Preparatory classes, and ELA remediation classes. I have held the leadership role of department chairperson and Beginning Teacher mentor. For the past seven years, I have taught high school English classes for grades 9-12, ranging from exceptional English to English Honors and AP Language and Composition.

Teaching style
My teaching style has evolved into a Hybrid of demonstrator, facilitator, and delegator; it depends on the students' needs in the class. Every student does not learn the same way, respond the same way. I am flexible to meet the needs of my students. The professional development that has impacted my style and instruction into what I consider a formidable teaching skill are: Kagan, Baldridge, Modern Teacher, PDSA (Plan, Do Study, Act), B.L.A.S.T.( Building, Leadership, and Academic Strength Together), Learning Focused, and WICOR (components of Avid). I mention my professional development training because they have influenced how I think, plan, and create lessons and activities for students and functionality and ease of use for teachers.
