About the store
I have had the pleasure to teach as a special education teacher within the NYC Department of Education for three years now. I have been moved around grades each school year so I have been able to gain a variety of experience within a fifth grade self-contained class as well as within a third grade and first grade ICT class. Being able to work in such different classrooms each year has provided me with a deeper understanding of how to work with learners of different levels and abilities. The beautiful thing about this as well is that I have been able to use a wide variety of strategies and materials that have worked with my differently leveled learners each and every year. This has taught me how to craft resources in such a way that they can be used to support learners in every kind of classroom.

Teaching style

As a special education teacher, I love to teach using hands on activities whenever possible. I have also grown to love having my kiddos work in differentiated centers where they are able to develop their understanding of a given topic or skill in a fun and engaging way. I also love to work with my kiddos in small groups so that I am better able to meet their individual needs on a daily basis.

My own education history

I am a Brooklyn, New York native and was able to receive my undergraduate degree in Child Study from the St. Joseph's College of New York. Once I achieved this, I was also able to earn my masters degree in Learning, Cognition, and Development from Rutgers University.

Additional biographical information

I am currently a third year special education teacher with the NYC DOE. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband Dan and greyhound Loreta.
