Students impacted by poverty require different strategies related to student achievement. I am sharing strategies utilized with students attending a mission impossible middle school setting. Students met academic growth despite outside challenges and behind several years academically in reading and math.

The majority of students attending public schools come from low-income family homes. Many come to school frustrated and angry because of such outside challenges as lack of food, lack of clothing, These students need different strategies to help counteract their outside challenges.
