Shade in the coordinates to find the name of an American Composer, Copland. The student finds the coordinate (i.e. C4), shades it in, and when done it spells out "Copland". This fill-in is great a cross-curriculum worksheet because not only does it tie in to Music with the American composer Copland but also with Math by graphing and Geography with using coordinates. Can be used in multiple grades, 3-8. The first page is the answer sheet and the second is the student sheet. -- Eric Ruyle

This worksheet is similar to "Adding Notes" with this one is adding the values of Paired Eighth Notes, Quarter Notes, Quarter Rests, Half Notes, Half Rests, and Whole Notes in different combinations. (I have the rests adding value because even though they are silent, time still marches on) A great way check understanding of note lengths in a cross curriculum manner. Your Math people will love you! With 18 problems, it doesn't take long to complete but will show if the student is comprehending.

I have the student say the name first, then clap the rhythm while saying, and finally write the rhythm above the wor
