This template can be used for student corrections on assessments. This makes students analyze their mistake and (hopefully) learn from it. In my classroom, I give students half of their points back if they do corrections properly.

Solving Systems - The Graphing & Elimination Methods
This allows students to practice using the graphing and elimination method for the same system. They can check their work by looking at how they solved the same system using a different method. I used this product in collaborative groupings. I had one student do one method, and another student do the other. Then they would flip roles.

Laws of Exponents Triangle Matching
This is a great resource for students to practice the laws of exponents. Students have to simplify each expression and match it along the triangle sides. You can either have students cut out the triangle pieces and glue/tape them to the template, or you can have them glue/tape them to a colored paper! Answer key included.

Systems of Linear Equations: Review Problems
This review packet requires students to solve systems by substitution, elimination, and graphing. It also has students analyze the slopes of parallel lines to determine the number of solutions. There are also some word problems at the end!

Slope Formula Template
This template is meant to go in a sheet protector and for students to write on the sheet protector with a dry-erase marker. This allows students to see the importance of parenthesis (especially when you have a negative coordinate) in solving to find the slope!

Mistakes are Expected, Respected, Inspected, Corrected POSTER
I am really encouraging students to have a growth mindset this year. With that, I want them to know how important it is to make mistakes and learn from them. This poster was printed on colored paper and is a part of my "Math Mindsets" bulletin board in my classroom. I did not come up with the idea for this poster, but I formatted it myself.

Create a Heart on your TI-83/84 Calculator
This is a great, quick activity to engage students! I used this in my Algebra class as a warm up on Valentine's Day, but it can be used any time during the year! It would also be great as an introduction to the graphing calculator! The PDF is a direction sheet on how to graph a heart.

Classroom Coupons (PDF Version)
These coupons can be used in a variety of ways. I use them based on a point system used for classroom management. The coupons are different costs, but they can be used randomly as well. Here is a description of how I use them in my classroom. Homework Pass - Students can use this pass on a HW assignment of their choice to receive full credit. Systems: Parallel Lines Group Worksheet
This worksheet is meant for groups to work together to determine how many solutions a system has. They will need to rearrange equations into slope-intercept form, graph the system, and determine the solution. The aim of this activity is for students to understand that a system with parallel lines ends up with no solutions.

This homework assignment requires students to rearrange equations into slope-intercept form, graph systems, and determine the point at which they intersect. For the first problem, they will also have to verify that the solution works with both equations.

Experience
I am a current 8th Grade Math Teacher in a rural school district in New York State. This is my second year teaching 8th grade, and I have also taught Algebra, 6-8 ENL, and I was a math interventionist.
Teaching style
As a teacher, I find it necessary to provide a diverse allotment of lessons in order to meet the needs of such diverse students. Everyone is allowed the opportunity for an education, and it is our job to ensure that this education is accessible to all. Some lessons need to be direct, while others can provide great opportunity for collaboration and discussion. It can also be extremely meaningful to have students create something on their own, to enhance their learning experience.
We all learn differently, and I provide a vast array of materials that fit the needs of diverse students.
