About the store

Experience

I have taught elementary and middle school students as well as adults. I taught children for 12 years before deciding to stay home with my newborn son. I started teaching English as a Second Language to adults at night as a way to keep teaching while also being a stay-at-home mom.

Teaching style

I'm goofy and silly, but with a healthy dose of "let's get things done." At first, this was to get the best out of my seventh grade students, but I find my teaching style also appeals to adults. My willingness to make a fool of myself (for a good cause) seems to put my adult English Language Learners at ease.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have won several awards for integrating technology in education, multiple Teacher of the Year nominations, an award for being an outstanding mentor teacher, and one for my work as a site coordinator for interns from a local university.

My own education history

I have a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish as well as a Master's Equivalency.

Additional biographical information

I've had difficulty finding the resources I need for my beginning English adult students. Much of what I have found has too many British spellings or is geared toward young children. As a result, I have made many activities, printables, and games that can be used for any age, including adults.
