I have taught a range of 6th-12th grade Spanish for 12 years. I have taught beginners, intermediates, and dual language students. I have taught High School levels I, II, & III. The main curriculums I have used are Auténtico / Realidades, Senderos, and SOMOS.

¿Dónde está Mike Wazowski? This is a PowerPoint for a writing activity to go along with the Realidades 1 ch 2B vocabulary/grammar. Students will write sentences describing where Mike Wazowski (from Monsters INC) is located in relation to other classroom objects, using the verb estar and Spanish prepositions. Yo Soy proyecto Auténtico 1 1A/1B presentation assessment editable
Yo soy proyecto is a culminating presentation for Auténtico 1 chapters 1A & 1B. Students prepare a slideshow of visuals only to introduce themselves, discuss what they like to do and don't like to do (gustar + infinitives), and describe themselves. Students also talk in third person to discuss their friend's likes and dislikes and descriptions. Teaching style
I love to get students up, moving, and connecting together through games. I love using music in the classroom as well. I love to incorporate more Comprehensible Input and TPRS strategies into my teaching.

My own education history
I grew up in Glenview, IL and attended District 34 and 225 schools. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Secondary Education in 2013. While at the University of Iowa I had the amazing opportunities to study abroad in Heredia, Costa Rica and Sevilla, Spain. I have traveled to Ecuador and Perú with a teacher groups. In 2023 I graduated with a Master of Education in World Language Instruction from Concordia College.
