Especially Middle School Math

The general education curriculum never quite fit my students in the small group who were capable of learning grade level content, but not in the same way or time frame as everyone else. Nothing I found tackled both recoupment of skills and the new skills and strategies they were suppose to learn in the meantime, all while staying on pace to cover everything by the years end. I wanted them to feel successful and like they were learning the same concepts on pace with their typical peers. I found myself recreating and creating materials of my own inspired by Illustrative Math strategies used in my districts general education math classes to help my students access their grade level standards, similar to their peers, and feel successful.
