For those students who have special needs that are struggling with word problems, this is a starter list of words that can be used and what type of problem they will be solving from Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, and Equal. This is a good starting list for students and could be used as a sheet to help them during chapter/district tests if it is in their accommodations/modifications that they have a chart.

This is just a letter naming fluency practice sheet that I have put together for some of my ESS resource students to help them practice at home with getting faster at reading letters in upper and lowercase, to help them get ready for reading words. This is in preparation for DIBELS testing.

This is a simple checklist I created to use with each of my students, allowing me to monitor their progress once per week with those that need to work on letter naming and sounds. The squares are divided in half and I just put a little x or a + if they get it right. The lower part is for reading/recognizing the uppercase letter and the upper side of the line is for the lowercase letter reading/recognition. Makes it very easy to monitor their progress.

This is something I created to use in my Resource Classroom for the students struggling with subtraction problems. You can use the 20 leaves that are included, or you can use any other type of manipulative you would like to use in their place. The students will put the first number on the tree, then move the appropriate number of items off the tree and into the oval with the giraffes. Then they count what is left on the tree to get their answer.

For students with learning disabilities, or even those without that are struggling to learn how place value works, this is a sheet that you can print, laminate and the students can reuse it over and over. It currently only goes to the 100 Million level, but for those lower grade levels that is more than enough. Students can struggle on how to write out the words from standard form. I had a student that was struggling with adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers. When I created this to show the student how to do it, the general education teacher saw what I had done and loved it and wanted it for her classroom.
