I really enjoy preparing food with my students, and so do they. So, here are three easy, bakeless cookie recipes to make with students for the holidays.
Many of my students live in communities struggling with violence. I created a homework assignment requiring them to survey people in their community and analyze the results about the problem.
This item has printable black and white checker boards and game pieces. The teacher writes Spanish vocabulary words on the white squares. Students must translate the word on the square they want to move to before they are allowed to move. When I used it in my classroom, I always put verbs on the squares to practice conjugation. Students found it very engaging and calming to focus on a game that required them to use both their Spanish skills and logic/strategy smarts.
This is a handout I have my students complete when they are researching. They must submit one for every source they find. It requires them to put the source's information in MLA format, review the reliability of the source, analyze the type of information, take notes and compare that source to others on the same topic.
