Ethan Dempsey is a teacher with over 10 years of education experience, and he is also the author of a young adult series, 13 Treasures. He has worked with children of all ages from Kindergarten through 12th grade, in alternative school settings, and even taught Adult Education computer classes. His experience is wide ranging which allows him to bring a number of different disciplines into his classroom on any given day. He has been asked to speak to schools in Missouri, Iowa, and as far away as Georgia on topics from Math to Writing.

Math Homework Grid
For my math classes, I have my students use this form for many of my assignments from the textbook. It easily arranges each problem in its own space and allows for easier grading by myself or the students. It is two pages as I created it to be photocopied front and back. If you utilize both sides, there is enough room for more than 30 problems. I have found that my students love to use these. For those students who need some extra help with organization these are especially helpful.

This is the Excel file I have my students use to keep track of their completed books throughout the school year. The book log is set up to keep track of the number of pages the students have read automatically. There is also a column to keep track of current Lexile level and the Lexile of each book. Teaching style
Ethan prefers to work in the Workshop Model and allow the students to explore and inquire to facilitate their learning. He seeks to always work with the students in mind and provide them the best opportunity to learn. To be the best teachers we must always do what is best for our students.
