Experience

I started my teaching career in Rock Hill, SC teaching 3rd grade at a STEAM school. After, I returned to the elementary school where I completed my internship in Fort Mill, SC to teach 4th grade. In 2019, I moved to Charlotte, NC and took my teaching career with me! I spent 3 years teaching 5th grade, math & science - a true DREAM! I have worked with students from many different backgrounds & cherish the experiences that have been created from these relationships.

Teaching style

One of the things I love most about teaching is the flexibility that's involved in teaching. I remember many days where I was in the middle of a lesson and as I continued to look into my kid eyes, they were LOST! Usually I had one of two options - pause for the day, pick up tomorrow with something a little different OR change everything right then and there. Whip out the math manipulatives, get out dry erase markers and write on our desks, sing a song, WHATEVER it takes to spruce up what we're currently doing and get our brains working in a different way! While this can sometimes be intimidating and frustrating to have to change everything you're doing at that moment in time, it is also thrilling and so rewarding. That "AH-HA" moment is the absolute BEST moment.

Additional biographical information

Currently I reside in Charlotte, NC with my husband & two golden doodles, Milo & Monty. You may previously know me (or notice on my products) that I was "Ms. B & grade 3"...however, I have since upgraded to something I find a little more fitting - "Evans in Elementary". I love crafting & creating, especially for the classroom! Being a former teacher I know how hard it is to find time to get everything done, so sometimes the "fun & cutsey" but engaging stuff gets pushed to the side. I love being able to share resources and ideas that I LOVED using in the classroom. My goal is to make the job of a teacher easier - no prep - just print. Feel free to reach out if you have a classroom idea but need a resource...I'm all for original creations!
