About the store
Welcome to Every Piece Counts! The name "Every Piece Counts" started as a World's Largest Jigsaw Puzzle fundraiser in conjunction with Autism Speaks to raise money and awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorders in 2010. After graduating college with Bachelors degrees in Biology and Criminology, I found myself wanting to be back in the classroom, not as a student, but rather a teacher. I began working as a teaching assistant for various grade levels K - 8, working with different populations of students while pursuing a Masters in Special Education. In 2018, I began my journey as a middle school math and science special education teacher with opportunities to provide mathematics RTI support for elementary grades. Every Piece Counts - the TPT store - arose from creating customized pixel math activities for one of my special education students. The student had an aversion to math, but the pixel math activities provided him a fun way to practice his math skills while working towards revealing a mystery picture. His unique requests for weekly pictures, sparked my creating of all sorts of pixel art activities and using with all my students and sharing with other staff members and subject areas. Pixel art activities have become a fan favorite in my school district - I hope they become a favorite in your school district, home school, or family. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or customized requests!
