It gives concrete examples of how to make sentences more descriptive, sound more fluent, and utilize higher level word choice. This presentation is meant to be a mini-lesson as part of a writers' workshop model.

Teaching style

I believe that when teaching middle school, humor is the best way to engage students. I also feel strongly that students will rise to the occasion when you set high expectations.
