About the store
Equip you and your students with evidence-based tools designed to alleviate stress, enhance achievement, and improve student behavior—drawing on 40 years of diverse experience in education. I began as a social studies teacher. My professional development led to graduate studies in counseling and school psychology, enabling me to meet the needs of the students I worked with effectively. From 1988 to 2019, I served as a school psychologist for Hamilton Township Public Schools, where I had the opportunity to work alongside my colleagues in classrooms, developing interventions for school and life success. From there, I initiated and maintained an ongoing nonviolent crisis intervention program for administrators and staff throughout the district. I specialize in empowering students facing behavioral and learning challenges through direct individual and group work, consultation, and assessment. From 1991, I have been a licensed psychologist in private practice, specializing in family therapy. My work in schools informs my counseling, and I have brought my knowledge of development and counseling expertise into the schools. Today, I continue to train school administrators and staff through the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association in Monroe, NJ. I am also a training consultant and in-service provider for the Center for the Promotion of Social-Emotional Learning in Camp Hill, PA.

Teaching style

My approach is to keep things simple and focus on what's working and what's not. I help teachers and students focus on what matters, respond to challenges, and build relationships that promote wellness, enabling everyone to move forward. I provide them with tools to be self-directed and willing to work with, rather than against, themselves and others.

Awards & shining teacher moments

In 2016, I was named School Psychologist of the Year by the New Jersey Association of School Psychologists for my efforts in bringing the ACT Matrix to schools in New Jersey and beyond. My shiny teacher moments occur every time I show a teacher or a student the Matrix, and they say things like, "I really like this!", "This is going to come in handy!", "I could really use this for _________", and "I can't wait to try it!"

My own education history

I earned a B.A. in psychology from Villanova University and an M.A. in Counseling School Psychology from Rider University. I also earned post-graduate certification from the Family Therapy Institute in Philadelphia Pa.

Additional biographical information

I am a psychological flexibility trainer. I use the ACT Matrix as an immediately engaging and simple process to promote mental health and wellness for learners of all ages (and teachers). My materials are designed for immediate use for happier, healthier classrooms and schools. Dr. Kevin Polk, the author of the Matrix, developed this empowering, evidence-based approach. It is known worldwide as "the workability model" and has endless applications for those who use it. The Matrix is a values-based, cognitive behavioral tool that I have field-tested for over 15 years in classrooms and educational programs. It naturally targets all the core SEL areas. Teachers report that the Matrix reduces disruptions and that their students become more engaged and self-regulated. The students agree! My classroom-tested materials reflect this real-world experience - practical tools that work because they're designed by someone who's been in your shoes.
