Jump, Frog, Jump Interactive Vocabulary PPT

Are you wanting to actively engage your newcomer ESL/ELL students? Have them engage in this interactive powerpoint as a pre-reading activity before you read the book Jump, Frog, Jump by Robert Kalan. Water, Water, Everywhere: Facts About the Ocean Story

This story has been used on the TN Core website within the 2-3 grade span Oceans and Continents Unit. I by no means wrote any of this informational text, but simply formatted. Task Cards: Ocean Facts

These task cards can be used multiple ways (Scoot, I Have, Who Has, Matching, Literacy Center, etc), but can also serve as a great powerpoint review for students after finishing the informational texts Oceans, and Water, Water, Everywhere: Facts About the Ocean. I put these in a center, and have my students go back in the text, find the answer, highlight, then complete the match. You can find other resources for this unit in my TPT store!

Salamander Rhyme Time

This resource was created to be a follow-up activity to the book The Great Smoky Mountain Salamander Ball by Lisa Horstman. If you need a copy of the book, please click here. I created this resource during summer school. My students loved learning about salamanders and their habitats. I used this with intermediate grade students, but it would also work well with primary. It is critical for students to engage in the text multiple times, and all the words in the matching game come straight from

This product was designed for my 2nd and 3rd grade low ESL group. Adapt however you wish to fit your students. Happy teaching!

My own education history

Since I was 8 years old, working in my mother's classroom, I have been teaching. I have taught 5th and 2nd grade in the regular classroom, but now am teaching ESL/ELL for K-8 students. I have truly found my niche in working with ESL. I teach literally K-8. 8th graders in the morning, and Kindergarten beginners at the end of the day, and of course the other grades in between. It's a crazy teaching life, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
