To introduce chapter 9 Math In Focus for fourth grade I created this PowerPoint to review vocabulary (points, lines, line segments, angles, vertices, protractors) and how to measure angles including a review of the protractor. Also introduces types of angles (straight, right, obtuse, acute, reflex). I usually print this packet for students to keep as a reference in math folders and to complete the guided practice parts.

So many students struggle with the steps of long division. This is a great mnemonic (memory) device to help them remember the steps. Students have choice about which activities to use and you have options for differentiation with spinners and activities assigned.

Packet kids complete to develop understanding of geometry vocabulary (point, line segment, line, angle, vertex, acute angle, obtuse angle, right angle, reflex angle, straight angle, square, rectangle, parallel lines, perpendicular lines). Students are asked to write the definition and draw an example for each.

To help students learn data landmark vocabulary (mean, median, mode, range, maximum & minimum) print out these flashcards. They can be two sided for students working on practicing alone or can be printed single sided and used in a memory game! For the memory game I'd print a few versions and students match the definitions to the correct data landmark then keep any pairs they turn over.
