I’m a passionate literacy educator with 24 years of teaching experience dedicated to helping students become confident, successful readers and writers. I am Orton-Gillingham certified and have extensive experience using structured literacy programs, including Wilson Reading System and Really Great Reading. My work is grounded in the Science of Reading, with a strong focus on explicit, systematic phonics instruction that supports all learners—especially struggling readers. I also taught in Japan for two years, which strengthened my ability to meet the needs of diverse learners and adapt instruction across cultures.
