Road to Peace is a conflict resolution game developed by two Montessori teachers to help students successfully resolve their own conflicts to the extent that resolution is within their capacities. The game works in both Montessori and traditional classrooms. Students who are unable to resolve their conflicts are directed to request mediation. Students can use this Personal Word Wall to record words that they want to (or need to) learn to spell. We have students keep these in their writing journals and use them to record words that they want to use in their writing but do not know how to spell. NOTE: We discourage using this as a way to organize spelling words. Spelling words should be organized around spelling patterns, not the first letter in the word.
