I believe in teaching proficiency through Comprehensible Input rather than the standard grammar-heavy language class. These research-based language acquisition strategies use a mixture of reading and storytelling to help you naturally acquire a foreign language. I teach with a focus on immersion with comprehensible input and not grammar since that is not how language is naturally acquired. I create fun and engaging activities to reinforce the Fluency Matters novels. These activities are designed to keep students in the target language. Some fun traditional games that have created to supplement fluency matters books are Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect 4, Sorry, Snakes and Ladders and Pictionary. Students will develop skills in the areas of listening, speaking and reading while having fun discussing the novels in the target language.
