April is National Poetry Month! What better way to kick off the celebrations than with a bad poetry contest? These slides contain some winners from the National Bad Poetry contest. Students can discuss what makes poems so "bad" and how they would do better. The last slides give suggestions for how to make poems basic and contrite. Use as a bell ringer or exit ticket on Fridays! Form keeps track of student emails and aggregates responses into Google Sheet. Form asks students for their class period, something that went well, something that did not go well, and what their favorite activities from class were this week. Form is editable to tweak answer options according to your class!

I have students create four mini squares and then they cut them out to put on our word wall.
