About the store
I teach math to deaf students at a residential school for the Deaf. I primarily teach middle school math and Algebra 1 but have taught all grades from K to 12 ranging from counting to calculus! I use American Sign Language as the language of communication for instruction so all my students learn through their eyes rather than their ears, hence my store, Eye Learn Math.

This product contains 12 task cards that require students to solve inequalities. Students have to choose the correct one of four numbers that satisfies the inequality. This requires students to actually understand the meaning of the inequality symbol. Example: Students solve and get a solution of a<5. If the answer choices are 5, 3, 8, and 10, the correct answer is 3 because it is the only one that is actually less than 5. Math involved: The variable is on the left side of each in

Experience

I teach math to deaf students at a residential school for the Deaf. I primarily teach middle school math and Algebra 1 but have taught all grades from K to 12 ranging from counting to calculus! I use American Sign Language as the language of communication for instruction so all my students learn through their eyes rather than their ears, hence my store, Eye Learn Math.

Teaching style

Many of my students have learning disabilities that make accessing a textbook very difficult for them. I try to make materials to help them access the curriculum in a more meaningful and memorable way.

My own education history

I graduated from Duquesne University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have a master's degree in Deaf Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Additional biographical information

I live in Virginia with my husband and wonderful baby girl.
