Additional biographical information

As an instructional coach and the creator of the Factivation!® online program for Math facts, I wear many hats. My most important job; however, is as educator. The Factivation!® program was born out of years of classroom experience, teaching 3rd-5th graders all subjects. My favorite subject to teach was always Math, but I noticed a problem early on in my career that prevented many students from reaching their Mathematical (and overall academic) potential. That issue was the lack of a solid fact foundation, a crucial building block in a child's education that allows him/her to continue learning as he/she heads into more complex Mathematical situations. While teaching 5th grade, I saw firsthand how this can affect the confidence of a student across the board, in all subject areas, as he/she sadly reaches the false conclusion that "I'm just not very smart" or "I'm not really a good student". This is a tragic occurrence witnessed by many teachers. I knew that the root of the problem was preventable so I set out to remedy it by starting Factivation.com. As teachers, we must ensure Math fact mastery. When we do, our learners are empowered with the necessary knowledge to move forward successfully in their education.
