As a storyteller and educator at heart, I create books that encourage social-emotional learning, friendship, and problem-solving in ways that are engaging and meaningful for children. 🌟 My Education & Inspiration 🌟 I studied Creative Writing at Suffolk County Community College in 1989, where my passion for storytelling took root. I was often selected out of my writing class for my eye-catching stories, which inspired me to continue writing for children. I am a mother of three adult children and a dog lover — currently sharing my home with a Pomeranian and a Cockapoo. The original inspiration for Fancy Pants Poodle came from our family dog, Zoie, a miniature poodle. Zoie was very particular about the doggie clothes she wore and often gave me a hard time — except for her favorite winter coat, which she loved. That’s how I came up with the idea for Fancy Pants Poodle’s “Doggie Play Outfit”, designed to be comfortable, stylish, and practical, complete with yellow high-top sneakers to keep paws dry, clean, and warm in the colder months. This love for storytelling and attention to detail led to the Fancy Pants Poodle series — stories that spark imagination, confidence, and kindness in young readers.

I love the easy access to the beach and the vibrant culture of Manhattan, just 30 minutes away. Visiting New York City inspired me to create the designs for Fancy Pants Poodle, from stylish doggie outfits to playful accessories that bring each character to life.
