The Great Garden Escape is a classic for my classroom. We love to read it in the springtime! This can be used in small groups or as a whole class. The book can also be found on Youtube. Enjoy this small package of activities for your students to engage in after the read aloud.

Read aloud or play the book “Don’t Touch That Flower”. Give students spring colored markers, crayons or highlighters! Have students answer each question by highlighting the answer. Make it even more fun by allowing students to color when finished.

This is great for early readers. Learning to recognize and read CVC words is a crucial part to learning to read! Students will reach each sentence. Then, they could color, circle, dot or highlight the correct picture to match the sentence. These worksheets have students use all types of skills. Hope you enjoy!

When I have small groups I love to do a read aloud. There are videos online or if you have the book read it to your students. Have students complete the comprehension questions and go over together. Students can also use this as a coloring sheet! Hope you enjoy!

Easy no prep CVC worksheets! This is fun for small groups, fast finishers, or as a whole class. Use dot markers, crayons, paint, markers or even stickers! As the student finds/reads the words dot the word! Even add some fun with coloring in the picture!

Reading CVC words can be fun! Have students read each CVC then find the picture! Once they find the picture to match the CVC word they can color it! Not all pictures will be colored!! My small groups loves this. It could also be used as busy work.

In my classroom I have students in small groups read the words off the coins to me. For each high frequency word that they get correct they can color, paint dot, highlight or paint stick the coin yellow. Another option is to call out a high frequency word. A fun way to learn colors while sorting!! We used colored cereal to do this fun activity! This can be done in small groups or whole class!! We like to do this close to snack time as a treat as well! There are 3 different versions of this activity. Colored dots, color words, or plain. (see preview)

Have students read each CVCe word to you. If and when they can read the words correctly. Let them color that row of the rainbow. Once the rainbow is colored, on page two have students chose one word from each row. Have them write one sentence per word on the provided lines. If they would like allow them to illustrate one sentence in the box provided.

I use this for my small groups! We cut out each piece and create a small craft! Followed by an independent worksheet! This helps with writing skills, identifying letters, and letter sounds. Please enjoy!!
