Experience

I’m a passionate 7th–12th grade educator with 3 years of teaching experience in rural, Title I schools, primarily serving Native American students. I currently teach a wide range of subjects including AP Psychology, AP Biology, General Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, CNA, Medical Terminology, Health Care Occupations, and Phlebotomy. I serve as the Science Department Head, sponsor our HOSA chapter, and formerly led Student Council—giving me a well-rounded view of both the classroom and student life.

Teaching style

My classroom blends structured routines with both student- and teacher-led instruction. I use a multimodal approach that incorporates hands-on labs, engaging tech tools, and real-world applications to keep students active and invested in their learning. I’m committed to differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of ELLs, students with IEPs/504s, and gifted learners, using scaffolding, enrichment, and inclusive practices to ensure every student thrives. My goal is to create a learning environment that is equitable, curiosity-driven, and future-focused, where students feel both challenged and supported.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I’ve been nominated three years in a row by my students for Educator of the Year, a recognition that means the world to me. One of my proudest teaching moments was organizing a full-scale student-led health fair, where my CNA and healthcare students provided education, screenings, and outreach to our school and local community—many of whom had never experienced that kind of peer-based health initiative. I’ve also been featured in district newsletters for my innovative approach to integrating medical training into high school curricula.

My own education history

I hold a Master’s in Education and am currently pursuing a dual Master’s in Psychology and History through Western New Mexico University. I’m continuously growing through AP workshops (Psychology and Biology) and working toward completing microcredentials in areas like instructional design, classroom management, and culturally responsive teaching.

Additional biographical information

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me bowling, reading, cooking, crocheting, or spending time in the mountains—my favorite place to relax and recharge. I started this TPT store to share engaging, classroom-tested resources that save teachers time while bringing joy to upper-level content areas. My goal is to provide interactive games, creative worksheets, and high-interest activities that make even the toughest science and psychology topics feel accessible and fun. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that every student deserves to feel seen, capable, and inspired to pursue a career they’re passionate about.
