Are you looking for a fun way to have everyone get to know each other? For this activity the students will find 3 different items at home to tell about themselves. They will bring the items in to share with the class and then do a writing assignment about those items. This is a great combination of a fun activity the kids love to do and a way to do an easy writing project at the beginning of the year!

Idioms can be very hard for a lot of students to understand. This activity really helps students break down some of the most common idioms. They will take an individual idom and show what it both like and then what it actually means.
