About the store
I have spent the past 18 years teaching elementary students to love science by leaning into curiosity and wonder. Along the way, I have served as a district science curriculum writer, presented at teacher conferences, and had the honor of receiving the Grand Prize Sarah and Ernest Butler Excellence in Science Teaching Award. My resources are designed to be practical, engaging, and rooted in research based best practices, the kinds of lessons I have seen light up my own classroom. Most recently, I launched Fascination Science at www.fascinationscience.com, where I am beginning a new adventure of sharing resources and inspiration to support teachers and spark curiosity in students.

Experience

Teaching style

My teaching style blends NGSS aligned, research based strategies with the reality of a busy classroom. I value hands on learning, meaningful questioning, and real world connections. Every resource I create is designed to help students think like scientists while still being practical and teacher friendly.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One highlight of my career was receiving the Grand Prize for the Sarah and Ernest Butler Excellence in Science Teaching Award in 2025. I am also honored to be recognized each year as an Exemplar Educator in my district. Beyond awards, I am proud of the impact I have made as a curriculum writer and as a member of the TEKSGuide.org review team, where I was selected from across Texas to collaborate with a small group of educators and science leaders. Even with these recognitions, my shining teacher moments will always be the small victories, the spark in a student’s eye, the excitement of a discovery, and the confidence that grows when they realize they can think like scientists.

My own education history

I earned my degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Science and have continued to grow through nearly two decades of teaching experience. I have completed advanced professional learning in curriculum design and leadership, including serving on my district’s curriculum writing team and participating in the Leadership Pathways program in the Curriculum and Coaching track. My passion for science education has also led me to present at conferences and to serve on the statewide TEKSGuide.org review team.

Additional biographical information

Outside of the classroom, I am the heart behind Fascination Science (fascinationscienceworld.com), where I am just beginning this new adventure of sharing ideas and inspiration to spark curiosity in young learners and support teachers. I enjoy creating resources that make teaching easier and more meaningful. When I am not working on science projects, I love spending time with my husband, our three kids, and our two dogs.
