About the store
At the start of the 2023/2024 school year I will be going into my sixth year as a professional educator! I have taught across a variety of subject areas within 4th, 5th, and 6th grade, but specialize in math and science. My certifications include Connecticut 1-6, Florida K-6, and Florida Math 5-9. I previously was certified in the state of New Hampshire for K-6 as well. My years of experience, as well as my education, has provided with the knowledge and expertise of Common Core State Standards, Florida Sunshine State Standards that has transitioned into Florida B.E.S.T. standards, and Next Generation Science Standards. When it comes to testing and test prep I have prepared students for and administered SBAC for all subjects at an elementary and early middle school level, FSA for math and ELA, FSSA for science standards, and the new FAST testing for math.

Teaching style

I believe in a teaching style that allows for a variety of learning styles among students, and am a strong believer on the power of yet and if it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you. I like my students to engage in a little productive struggle as a way to engage in inquiry and help with self error analysis. I incorporate SEL and growth mindset activities through my academic lessons to help students develop mindsets that will help them overcome academic obstacles and succeed.
