About the store

Experience

I’m currently teaching second grade, and I’ve previously taught fifth grade, worked as a long-term sub, and served as a paraprofessional. My background also includes years of experience as a daycare supervisor and childcare coordinator, which gives me a unique understanding of early childhood development and emotional learning. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Centre College in Kentucky and have always had a passion for helping young learners grow—academically, emotionally, and socially.

Teaching style

My teaching style is a mix of structure and spontaneity. I’m an ADHD, Type B teacher who loves a good routine—but also believes that some of the best teaching moments happen when you wing it. I appreciate organization (even if it doesn’t always come naturally) and I thrive on flexibility, creativity, and real-world connection. I’m always on time, stick to a schedule, and also somehow manage to go completely off topic in the best possible way. My classroom is equal parts laughter, learning, and life lessons.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Some of my proudest moments as a teacher haven’t come from awards, but from growth—mine and my students’. I’m trained in Orton-Gillingham instruction, the Science of Reading, Restorative Practices, and Conscious Discipline. These approaches shape how I teach, connect, and support the whole child. Whether I’m helping a student crack the reading code or coaching them through a big feeling, I consider every breakthrough moment a win worth celebrating.

Additional biographical information

I live in Granby, Colorado with my husband Zach, who works as the assistant director of ski patrol, and our two adventurous daughters, Olive (5) and Violet (2). When I’m not teaching or creating resources, you can usually find me on a mountain bike, skis, or hiking trail. Our family loves being outside together—whether we’re running, exploring, or just soaking up the fresh mountain air.
