I have been a speech and language pathologist for over two decades. I have worked in the school setting, as well as in early intervention and private practice. I have experience working with children with speech and/or language delays, as well as working with children with multiple needs, such as ASD. I have been a speech and language pathologist for over two decades. I have worked in the school setting, as well as in early intervention and private practice. I have experience working with children with speech and/or language delays, as well as working with children with multiple needs, such as ASD. My favorite areas to target are severe speech sound disorders/apraxia and Natural Language Acquisition.
Teaching style
Making therapy fun while meeting a child's needs is always one of my number one goals. They say a, "child's work is play," and I leave by that motto. I love being able to say, "I play for a living." Oh, and I get to blow bubbles every day, too!

In 1994, I graduated from CSU Sacramento with my bachelor's degree in speech and language pathology, and in 1996 I finished my master's degree speech an language pathology.
Additional biographical information
I love working with the "littles" and helping them find their words! That moment when they light up because they have said their first word, or someone understood what they were trying to communicate, is what keeps me going. I love being creative, and I love finding things that are fun and interesting for the kids, while still addressing their goals and needs. I know how time-consuming that can be, and I love the idea of having fun things ready to go.
A little history about my store name and logo... Several years ago, a family wrote me a thank you note, when I was ready to dismiss their child from services. His mom wrote, "Thank you for helping him find his words," and that seemed like the perfect name to call my, private practice. Fast forward a few years, and my family and I finally returned to my home state of Texas. When I decided to set up my TPT store, combining a shout-out to my home, with a phrase I hold dear, seemed like a perfect fit.
When I'm not being an SLP, I'm hanging with my family, reading a good book, or binge-watching Netflix.
