Experience

I have been teaching for 25+ years with 20 of those years in first grade. How I love first graders! They are my joy and teaching them is my passion. I have worked in both private and public schools.

Teaching style

I am all about student engagement and providing materials that allow kids to have hands-on learning experiences. I pay close attention to materials I call "kid-friendly' in that kids can understand and use materials as independently as possible.

My own education history

I have a BS from Bloomsburg University of PA, and I hold a Masters Degree from Wilkes University of PA with a concentration in Early Childhood Literacy. I continue to take grad classes to broaden my horizons and keep up with the latest trends and developments in education. I've worked with a plethora of college students and have served as a student teacher cooperating teacher several times as well as a mentor for new teachers in the profession.
