About the store
Hello! My name is Megan and I'm so excited you are here. I am a wife, mother to 7 children, and a teacher. I began my teaching career in 4th grade, but my calling was for the younger grades. After 3 years, I moved to first grade and never looked back. I have 20 years of teaching experience in first grade. I loved first grade because the amount of growth that happens over the year is so rewarding. I think all teachers are heroes, but K-2 teachers work so hard planning multiple subjects, differentiating, and engaging young minds. Kudos to you! I hope my work as a curriculum writer eases some of your load and brings happiness and engagement to your students. In addition to teaching, life has taught me many valuable educational lessons. In 2013, I was blessed with my daughter Charlie who has Down Syndrome. She is the center of our family and definitely a shining star. She has helped me reflect on my curriculum to ensure I am meeting the needs of a variety of learners.

Name Tags and Resource Helpers MENU SIZED

These student menus will be used in my classroom as a name tag and as a resource for my first grade students. It has a number grid, number line, number words, and an alphabet that is enlarged and one with picture clues. This version can be opened in PowerPoint and names can be added. There is also a version to add both names and numbers. Finally, there is a non-editable version which does not allow you to add a name. It can be printed into menus and just used as a resource for your students. It

Teaching style

In first grade modeling, being prepared, and consistency were the key to my success. I believe students learn best by being exposed to information in multiple ways. I also embraced the "I Do", "We Do", "You Do" method of teaching.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I won "Teacher of the Year" three times in my school district. However my most gratifying shining moments were the success I saw at the end of each school year.

My own education history

I attended Bowling Green State University for Undergraduate school and The University of Toledo for Graduate school.

Additional biographical information

I am the mother of triplets. I have two girls and a boy. I also have three step-children who I absolutely adore. Together my husband and I have a little girl who was born with Down Syndrome. She has changed all of our lives in the most amazing way. She is the center of our entire family, a little piece of all of us! Life is busy but I wouldn't have it any other way!
