About the store

Experience

I have been a high school math teacher since 2015 and I'm looking forward to many years to come. I have had student teaching experience in a large suburban North Atlanta high school. Now I am in a tiny rural high school in south Georgia.

Teaching style

GROUPS! I am a huge fan of group based learning. Everyday I like to give a short lecture with examples and non-examples. Then I let the kids loose in pairs or groups or singles. My co teachers and I then rotate around the room answering questions and keep the groups on task.

My own education history

I have a BA in Math from Agnes Scott College and a MAT from Kennesaw State. I completed my gifted certification in 2018. I can't wait to see what the future holds!

Additional biographical information

I have dyslexia. I enjoy using my own struggles to relate to my students and help remind them that teachers are also human, and therefore make mistakes. This helps them realize that they can succeed in their goals, even if they need to ask for help.
