Math journals are one of the best ways to build problem solving skills and math reasoning! When used as part of your math workshop, journals help students learn to choose effective strategies, problem solve in multiple ways, show their thinking, and explain it to others. I use math journals with my third graders and this resource shows you how to do it in your own classroom. This file includes: 5 pages of detailed instructions for setting up math journals and how to use them effectivelyEditable
This is a set of "I Can" posters for every grade 2 Common Core Standard in math. Each card has an "I can..." statement on one side for the students and the standard on the other side for the teacher. The cards are designed to be folded in half like a tent so they stand up for display in the classroom. They can also be cut apart and used as separate pieces. Clear, easy-to-read font! A matching set of posters for 2nd grade ELA standards is available in my store.
