In this project, students will work in groups to explore a major region, movement, or theme from the Renaissance period (1300–1600s) and present their findings through a 5–7 minute performance. Possible topics include the Italian Renaissance, Northern European Renaissance, Age of Exploration, African Empires, Asian Empires, the Protestant Reformation, and Renaissance women in power. The students will read a short primary document about Germany invading Belgium. They then must answer a few questions regarding the document. This is a great lesson for a day or introduction into WWI. I also consider this a mini DBQ.

Students will interpret their own dreams and come to their own conclusions on why we dream. This assignment is great for homework, exit ticket, or entry slip.

The students will assume the role of a doctor. They will have to determine whether or not their patient has a sleep disorder. This is great for any psychology class in high school. It usually takes less than 20 minutes to finish!
