Five Preps

This is the full curriculum I use for teaching Algebra 1. It contains all the TEKS and they are deconstructed for you with basic explanations. I print these out and hand them out first of the year, then we work through them together cutting and pasting in STAAR questions and examples from their books, then the kids have a complete study guide come STAAR time. It's also a great way to show growth, and easy for administrators doing walk throughs, you can show them the exact TEK you are working on.

This is a project I created for my middle school students. We work on it after STAAR and while waiting for scores, because it's a great way to release stress after cramming for the test. The kids get to be creative and design their own business, it's a fully 'self-guided' packet, that walks them through forming a business, calculating net and gross profit and overhead, as well as teaching them the basics of income tax! Fully editable study guide/work book for the 8th Grade STAAR!!! I use this in the weeks prior to STAAR to allow students to fill out and study on their own time. It contains short answer problems where students dissect the information in order to increase mastery! I send it home as a homework the week before STAAR and give a grade for returning it, but it would well as an in class activity too.
