This is a self check assignment using properties of parallelograms, rectangles, and rhombus. It also includes interior and exterior angles of polygons. I use this as a mixed practice after I teach the shapes so students have to differentiate between the different properties and know when to use which property.
In this assignment, as students work, they will cross of a name, place, or location where a crime happened. Whatever is left over is the person, place, and crime. So this is very easy to
This anchor chart is 2 sides, one side has properties of angles and general vocabulary about polygons. The other side has all the properties of Parallelograms, rectangles, rhombus, squares, kites, and isosceles trapezoids. I tend to keep a class set around in case students need it while learning.
The third page can be used as a student copy to keep in an interactive notebook so as you go through the unit, students can mark on this and they will have something to carry with them throughout the u
When I use an assignment like this, I print pages 1 and 2 double sided so that each student has their own copy to work off of. Pages 3-10 are then only printed once and cut in half and scattered randomly through the room or hallway. Students then have the opportunity to work and check their own answer at their leisure.
I have assignments like this due to sometimes students like to sit while others like to stand and move around, this gives them a little more option, plus it is easy to check as
This activity includes everything from our right triangle unit except for word problems. Students will have to differentiate when to use Pythagorean Theorem, the basic trig functions, and the inverse trig functions. It starts off just basic triangles, then asks the students to find all missing pieces of a triangle and finishes off with graphing and using trig on a graph!
This assignment is also self-checking and quick to grade as once a student gets an answer, they cross off the person, place,
