For the last three years I have taught special education at East Hall Middle School with a focus in math and science. However, next year, I will be to strictly 7th grade life science.
This is a self checking activity in which students practice the Triangle Sum Theorem and the Exterior Angle Theorem. The cells will turn blue if the students answer correct or gray if they answer incorrectly. This activity allows students to receive immediate feedback on their work and makes grading for the teacher exceptionally easy! While there is no physical answer key included, you can see the answer for each problem by clicking on the answer cell and opening the conditional formatting tab.
Unit 5 of 8th grade math (Common Core Standards) is about Linear Functions. This is what we hand out to our students at the beginning of the unit. It gives them a brief explanation of every topic we cover in this unit. It is best if printed on card stock.
This is a word search that includes 8th grade math terms used all year long. In order to find the words, students first must answer the clues (definitions). I have included a regular version, a modified version with a word bank, and an answer key!
This is a condensed cheat sheet for Unit 2 of 8th grade math following common core standards. Here the students will be able to see the equations/steps to solve problems found within unit 2. Best if printed on card stock.
This is a self checking activity that covers one step, two step, and multi step equations. The assignment can be sent out to be completed in one day (all problems) or broken up over two days. When I used this in my classroom, I did the one and two step problems on the first day and the multi step problems on day two. The answer blocks will change color if students get the right answer. While there is no physical answer key, you can see the answers by clicking on the answer cell and opening "con
This activity will test students understanding of slope and y-intercept. Students will be required to match slope, y-intercept, table and graphs based on equations for the first slide. Then for the second slide, students will need to input the information based on a table.
Here are 24 task cards that cover all major exponent laws: Zero ExponentOne ExponentNegative ExponentProduct RulePower of a PowerQuotient RuleThe problems get more challenging as students work through them. Also included is a student answer sheet and an answer key. The last four cards could be used as "bonus" questions in order to level for your lower learners.
