I started teaching in 1995. I have taught math in 6th and 7th grade, reading/literature in 6th grade, and language arts in 7th and 8th grade. I also spent several years teaching all subjects in 5th grade.
Teaching style
Since going 1:1 in our school, I have developed a more student-centered classroom. I have flipped my classroom, providing lessons for students to watch at home, and engaging them in hands-on, collaborative, higher-level thinking activities in class with me.
My own education history
I have a B.S. in Elementary Education, with a Mathematics Minor. I also earned my M.S. in Educational Leadership with my Type 75, through National Louis University.
