Fluency is almost universally ignored by schools across the country, yet, it remains a vital skill that students need to develop in order to be successful readers. The Fluency Development Lesson (FDL) is a short, daily routine designed to improve students’ reading fluency, accuracy, and comprehension. There is ample research to support the effectiveness of this intervention. This packet is intended for use in a targeted, small group setting with upper elementary students.
