Flying Through 3rd

Give your students a "burst" of energy to finish strong when taking end-of-year assessments! These cards are placed on my students' desks when they walk into the classroom for our final day of testing. (But you could use them for any test!) I take 1 piece of candy on each card. They get so excited when they see them.

This end-of-3rd-grade assessment covers many of the academic standards assessed at the end of 3rd grade in Kentucky. An answer key is included on page 10. This test can be used as a review at the end of the year in 3rd grade. It can also be used as a prerequisite for a student who is being accelerated to 3rd grade from 2nd or to 4th grade from 3rd.

Student of the Week posters are a hit with students and with their parents. Choose one student every week, and he/she can decorate a poster according to his/her personality. Every week, the student of the week can present his/her masterpiece orally to classmates. These can be displayed outside your classroom throughout the week.
