With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, I have a deep passion for making language learning natural and intuitive. My expertise lies in curriculum development for young learners, specifically focusing on Mandarin Chinese acquisition through sensory play, music, and rhythm. Having worked with hundreds of children, I understand the pedagogical logic needed to move a child from their first word to confident bilingual expression.

My style is "Playfully Simple." I believe that for a child to love a language, the materials must be visually clear and educationally engaging. My resources follow a structured, pedagogy-first approach, blending Traditional Chinese, Pinyin, and English. By stripping away visual clutter and focusing on core concepts, I help parents and teachers create a calm yet stimulating learning environment.

My proudest moments come from teaching Chinese to non-native speaking (NCS) children in my local community. I have successfully developed specialized strategies to help students from diverse cultural backgrounds overcome the "language barrier" through music, movement, and visual logic. By transforming complex Chinese characters into "Playfully Simple" visual stories, I’ve seen students who started with zero knowledge grow to love the language and confidently use it in their daily lives. This hands-on experience ensures that every resource I create is specifically optimized for L2 learners (Second Language Learners) and bilingual households.

I hold professional qualifications in Early Childhood Education (ECE), with two decades of hands-on experience in the field. This foundation allows me to design resources that are not only beautiful but also developmentally appropriate for children in their most critical years of language development.

FlyLokMum is a family-led creative studio based in Hong Kong. Our name comes from the word for "Happiness" (快樂 - faai-lok), which is the heart of our mission. We are a husband-and-wife team: a veteran educator mum providing the pedagogical logic, and a creative designer dad crafting the minimalist, clean aesthetics. Together, we bring you high-quality, bilingual resources that make learning Mandarin and English a joyful family experience.
