Do you want to build empathy in your classroom? This seven-slide lesson is great for the first week of school for creating a classroom that encourages kindness, empathy, and acceptance. The lesson includes a step-by-step guided activity for building a culture of empathy and kindness. This is a great presentation to introduce the Notice and Notes Signpost strategies for fiction literature or it could be used as a review. These role tags are great for keeping students organized and on task during group work. Simply laminate, cut, hole punch then use yarn so students can wear them.

In this resource there are three self check exit ticket posters-Got it!, Almost there! and Not yet! Students can assess thier own understanding after a task then place thier exit tickets on the corresoonding poster ( I put them on folder pockets and hung them by the door so they could put them in there on thier way out of the classroom.
