Great practice with numbers that are greater, less than or equal to.
Students roll a die and move that many spaces on the board. Then the player chooses a card. If the number on the card is greater than the number on the circle, the player moves forward one space. If the number is less, the player moves backward one space. If the number is the same, the player stays on that space. Just print on cardstock and laminate. Have fun!
Begin by completing an addition story together, illustrating and solving. Then let your students create on on their own. Finally, let them practice with a partner. One student writes the story and the other illustrates and solves. Think of the creativity! This could be used for any topic, event or holiday. Have fun!
Do you want to make addition fun? Here is a hands-on activity using candy corn and it can be done in a group, with a partner or as a center activity. Just give each student some candy corn and two small cups. The student then puts a few pieces of candy corn into each cup, counts the pieces, writes the number on the line and adds.
