Do you want to make addition fun? Here is a hands-on activity using candy corn and it can be done in a group, with a partner or as a center activity. Just give each student some candy corn and two small cups. The student then puts a few pieces of candy corn into each cup, counts the pieces, writes the number on the line and adds. Begin by completing an addition story together, illustrating and solving. Then let your students create a story on their own. Finally the can practice with a partner. One student writes the story and the other illustrates and solves. It can be used for seasons or holidays as well. Have fun!
